When is it advisable not to tan?

We advise you not to tan in the following circumstances:
1.  Repeated expsure of the skin to X-rays
2.  Presence of skin cancer or "EXODERME PIGMENTOSUM" or "BASEDOW" disease.
3.  Slightly allergice skin reactions
4.  Presence of a sunburn
5.  Presence of varicose veins (or optionally cover them up)
Be careful if, along with your tanning bed sessions, you simultaneously take medicines which contain chemical ingredients that enhance the skin's sensivity to light, such as select antibiotics, methozypsoralene, etc.)

Operation of the mechanical timer

To begin a tanning session, the control knob must be rotated to the desired time, which is indicated on the housing of the timer mechanism.   This cannot exceed 20 minutes.  If it is so desired, you may stop the the session before the end of the preset time by returning the knob to the zero position.

Installation considerations

The tanning bed may only be connected to 220 volt, 20 amp, 60 hertz circuit with a grounding wire of equal size to the phased wires.  In most areas, this means two 12 gauge "hot" wires with a 12 gauge ground, but check your local codes for exact requirements.  The tanning bed is equipped with a standard 220-240volt plug and cord.  It should be installed on a dedicated circuit.

The tanning bed should be fully installed before attempting to operate.  The installation environment should be dry, level, dustfree area, and away from any other electrical devices and explosive gases (ie: away from gas appliances).  The tanning bed should immediately be disconnected if you see or smell smoke or a suspicious smell.

This system should only be installed by a trained and licensed electrician in the area which you reside.  During maintenance, you must disconnect the tanning bed from power before beginning.  Never use any cleaners other than those provided with your tanning bed on any surface of the system.  For replacement cleaner, contact 1-800-274-1744.  Please note that alcohol or ammonia based cleaning products WILL DO DAMAGE TO THE TANNING BED ACRYLICS.

Environmental considerations

The tanning bed uses lamps that contain mercury.   When a lamp breaks, it releases a small amount of mercury into the air, which is harmful for our health and detrimental to the environment.  You should expose of old lamps at an officially recognized recycling center or with your cities hazard material center, so that they may be recycled properly.  Do not destroy or break the lamps yourself.
